Fungicide, insecticide, post-emergent herbicide and desiccation over cereals, pulses, canola, cotton and fodder — flown at 20–40 L/ha with RTK-guided flight lines.
This is the bread and butter. Where a drone earns its keep in broadacre isn't replacing your rig on 800 flat hectares — it's the block that stayed wet, the paddock that needs a fungicide inside a three-day window, and the finishing passes when the crop is too tall to travel through.

The country nobody wants to walk with a backpack and nobody should drive with a quad. $275–$325 per hour, two hour minimum.
Steep faces, gullies, creek lines and timbered pockets are where drone spraying is genuinely without competition. Terrain-following radar keeps the aircraft at a constant height above the ground as the slope changes, so the rate stays right whether we're on the flat or on a 25-degree face.
For graziers this is often the difference between controlling an infestation and watching it take another paddock. We can also map the infestation first and fly only the patches, which usually cuts chemical volume by more than half.
Swap the spray tank for a 75-litre hopper and the same aircraft places up to 1.5 tonnes an hour, 50 kg at a time, over an 8 metre swath.
Aerial spreading suits exactly the same ground as aerial spraying: too wet, too steep, too tall, too small or too far from a track. It's also the quickest way to get a cover crop or a pasture over-sow onto country that would take a week to prepare for a ground rig.

Tree crop blocks on slopes are some of the most dangerous ground in Australian horticulture. Flying them removes the rollover risk entirely, and it removes the soil compaction in the wheel rows that costs you root zone every season.
Water rates run higher here, typically 40–100 L/ha depending on canopy, and we plan flight height and speed around the block rather than the other way round.
Cane, sorghum, maize, sunflowers and late cotton stop being drivable long before they stop needing treatment. Flying over the top means no crop damage, no wheel-track losses through the guts of the paddock, and no waiting for a taller rig to become available.
Common jobs: late fungicide, insect control, growth regulator, desiccation and harvest aid.
Under 40 ha, irregular shapes, powerline corridors, headlands, tree lines, dam banks and laneways. A big rig loses time and chemical on every turn; a drone flies the shape of the block as it actually is.
